Vision
NMS products help people…
§ achieve improved quality of life by enabling the era of personalized medicine,
§ be cured from diseases through the controlled long-term delivery of drugs and biologics,
§ reduce negative side effects of long-term treatments of chronic disease,
§ overcome disability with smart therapeutic delivery to augment body systems, and
§ recover from trauma through controlled dosing of recovery agents.
Mission
The mission of NMS is to meet the growing demand for improved safety, efficacy, and cost in patient treatment with a suite of innovative nanotechnology-based drug delivery devices offering life-changing, in-body, dynamic control of the delivery of therapeutic molecules. NMS believes that the application of nanotechnology to the drug delivery challenge will transform the quality-of-life landscape for humanity. The NMS product development vision is that a platform system architecture will harness the power of technology convergence to accelerate the commercialization of next-generation research, yielding revolutionary devices in revolutionary time.
Strategy
Fundamental to the NMS strategy is a patented core product platform technology that provides common use across many drugs, treatments, and markets, but which is not dependent on parallel development of any particular or new drugs. The era of personalized medicine will require products for the individual that depend on the integration of many sophisticated technologies. NMS will take advantage of technology advances in the fields of semiconductor, biotechnology, MEMS/NEMS, nano-materials, and pharmaceutical sciences to yield the most rapid and efficient time-to-market for its drug delivery products. This provides NMS with a natural, collateral continuous improvement that will drive performance, and allows a focus on accelerating commercialization. R&D and product costs are held down by optimized partnering and outsourcing, including university research, proprietary nanofabrication and prototyping, and volume manufacturing. NMS will partner with pharmaceutical companies on drugs/formulations to accelerate clinical demonstrations for their proprietary indications.
